Warts are hard, callous-like benign growths on the skin which can have a ‘cauliflower’ appearance. Warts tend to frequently occur on the hands and feet and vary in size from 3 to 6 mm. There are different types of warts. Hand and foot warts are the most common ones. In addition to hand and foot warts, there are also water warts, skin tags and genital warts
Warts are caused by a virus. The most common wart virus is the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), but other types of viruses can also cause warts. There are over 100 different types of HPV viruses. Different types of warts are caused by different types of viruses.
