What is HeltiQ Scar Gel?

HeltiQ Scar Gel ensures effective results in visibly reducing and repairing scars as a result of small or larger injuries. In addition to treating regular small scars, the scar gel is proven to be effective for the treatment of complex scars as a result of surgery or burns, such as hypertrophic and keloid scars. It has been scientifically proven that scars become more even, softer and smoother after using the gel and itching, pain and redness will be reduced.

HeltiQ Scar Gel ensures effective results thanks to its triple action:

1. Improvement of the moisture balance
Because HeltiQ Scar Gel improves the moisture balance of the scar, the cells of the scar tissue become more quiet thus reducing the formation of scar tissue.

2. Improvement of scar evenness

In case of an injury, the body will try to close the wound as soon as possible to prevent excessive blood loss and infection. This often results in an excessive production of connective tissue cells, which may cause a thickened scar. HeltiQ Scar Gel ensures an even dispersion and arrangement of the tissue in the affected area.

3. Quality improvement of scar tissue

When the production of scar tissue occurs too fast, usually the quality of the new tissue is not optimal. HeltiQ Scar Gel encourages the controlling factors of scar tissue, this to establishing a better quality scar tissue so scars can be softer and less visible.

What are scars?

Scars are permanently visible skin disorders that appear on wounds when healing. As part of this healing process an excess of collagen connective tissue may be formed, causing a thickening that is less appealing than the original skin.

When can I not use HeltiQ Scar Gel?

  • Near or too close to the eyes, apply at least at a distance of 2 cm from the eyes
  • On other skin conditions without prior consultation of your doctor
How long should I use HeltiQ Scar Gel for the best results?

For optimal results you should use HeltiQ Scar Gel several months. Over time, the itching, redness of the scar will become less and the scar will be more even and look better.

What are hypertrophic and keloid scars and what do they look like?

Hypertrophic scars are red, thick and swollen and could be painful or itchy. They occur approximately three weeks after an injury. Over the course of time, they become thicker, but do not extend beyond the area of the original injury.

Keloid scars occur due to an expansion of scar tissue. These type of scars are thick and irregular on the skin. Keloid scars expand beyond the area of the original injury and can cover relatively large areas.

How often can I use HeltiQ Scar Gel?

For an effective functioning, apply the gel in the morning and in the evening.

Can I use HeltiQ Scar Gel on my children?

You can use HeltiQ Scar Gel on children over 2 years old. The scar gel must be applied by an adult.  Do not let children apply the scar gel themselves.

HeltiQ Scar Gel contains several silicones, which are classified as "medical grade". This means that these silicones are suitable for use on human skin. The gel is also dermatologically tested.

Will my scar disappear completely after using HeltiQ Scar Gel?

It is not always possible to let a scar disappear completely. HeltiQ Scar Gel can, however, reduce the visibility of scars and make it more smoother, softer and supple.
